I know it’s public information when the jurors are questioned and things about their background are discussed. But how many of them maybe hunted down with the information published?
The defense can’t say names and the judge has instructed only the jurors numbers can be used. Yet with the information released I’m sure some will be trying to track them down. I don’t know what can be done to stop it. Maybe removing everyone except those directly involved in the trial while personal information is being addressed.
With the public information people post about themselves easily searched I’m sure people are already trying to find out who they are. You already know they live in one geographic area. You hear about posts they made and when they posted it. You hear one was originally from Ireland.
Doxing has become the norm. Is there any reason it won’t happen now? Will someone who isn’t a juror be falsely doxed?
It maybe just a sign of my paranoia or mistrust of the maga crowd. But I do think there’s a real possibility of it happening.
Like I said I don’t know what can be done to prevent it. But it should be addressed as a possibility in all his trials.
Edit: My wife was a jury member on a major South American drug boss case a long time back. You can imagine the thoughts that went through our minds.
